Indian Classical Dance - Mohiniyattam
A lot of indian dances: such as bharatanatyam, kathak, kuchipudi, and odissi-these dances were
usually TAUGHT by men, but performed by women either in temples or at festivals. men know
how to do these dances. However, in the case of Kathakali-it is exclusively MALE performed and
taught by men only until recent times when women have been allowed to learn. Mohiniattam could be considered the female counterpart of Kathakali-exclusively female performed...Devadasi's are not prostitutes either
